Types of Accounts

We have various account types of which you get to select your preferred choice during the account opening process.  


1. Swift savings account: Don't have the complete documentation to open a savings account, we have got you covered!  This is financial inclusion savings account that is just for you. 

 

  • What do I need to open Swift savings account?  

  • You need just your bank verification number (BVN). 

  • How much do I need to open a Swift savings account? 

  • You do not need any initial amount to open a Swift Account but it is advisable to open with at least 1075 naira to cover the cost of debit card. 

  • What can I benefit from opening a Swift savings account? 

  • Zero opening/minimum operating balance 

  • Issuance of verve card only 

  • SMS and Email alert on all transactions.

  • Access to USSD, and altbank. 

  • What are the features of Swift savings account? 

  • Single transaction limit of N50,000 daily.

  • N300,000 maximum cumulative balance 

  • Customer's account will be restricted if any amount higher than what is stated above enters the account. Customer will be required to upgrade to a Savings Account by providing necessary documentations. 


2. Savings account: With a zero minimum balance, you can open an Alternative Zero Interest Savings Account and enjoy access to Internet Banking platforms, debit cards and SMS alerts. 

 

  • What are the features/ benefits of a savings account? 

  • This a zero minimum balance account. 

  • You enjoy full access and free onboarding of our internet & mobile banking platforms.  

  • Verve card issuance (You get a free verve card delivered too registered address if you open your account online) 

  • No interest 

  • SMS and Email alerts 

  • 24/7 customer support  

What are the Requirements for opening a savings account? 

  • Valid means of identification license/voter’s card 

  • One recent passport sized photograph 

  • Documentary evidence of address in Nigeria (utility bill e.t.c) 

  • CERPAC- Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Alien Card (West African nationals excluded) This is for resident nationals of a foreign country. 

 

3. Current accountWith only N5,000.00 account opening deposit and zero minimum balance. This account does not charge for withdrawal and does not attract COT (Charge on Transaction.).

  • Verve card issuance (You get a free verve card delivered too registered address if you open your account online) 

  • Internet banking facility 

  • Opening balance of N5000 

  • No daily minimum balances 

  • No AMF 

  • POS (on request to individual merchants)

  • Debit cards on all the e-channels. 

  • Access to Aternative Bank facilities 

 

  • Corporate: With just N10,000.00 deposit, customers could enjoy all benefits of Alternative Corporate Account either as companies registered as Business Name or a Limited Liability company. 

  • Features:  

  • Opening balance of N10,000 

  • No daily minimum balances 

  • No AMF 

  • Verve card issuance 

  • Internet banking service 

  • Access to POS (on request)  

  • Access to all Sterling alternative facilities 

  • SMS and email alerts. 

  • Requirements (BN) 

  • Certificate of Registration 

  • CAC Certified Application form for Registration of Business name. 

  • Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). 

  • Partnership Deed (where applicable). 

  • BVN of each signatory and contact details. 

  • Recent and clear passport photograph of each Signatory. 

  • Valid and acceptable means of Identification for each signatory. 

  • Power of Attorney duly executed by the registered Business Owner where the signatory is different from the listed Proprietor. 

  • For Professional bodies, evidence of duly registered membership of the professional body is required. 

  • Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Alien Card (CERPAC) for Non-Nigerian Directors and Signatories of the company. 

  • Minimum Opening deposit of =N=10,000.00 (To facilitate Legal Search – Unfunded accounts will be closed after 30 days). 

  • SCUML Certificate (where applicable). 

  • Two satisfactory references  

Requirements (LLC) 

  • Board resolution on company letter head or company resolutions form provided in account opening package with company seal duly fixed. 

  • Two satisfactory references 

  • One recent passport sized photograph of the signatories 

  • CERPAC-Combined Expatriate Residence permit and Alien card (west African Nationals excluded) 

  • Certificate of incorporation 

  • Certified true copy of Form CO2 

  • Certified true copy of Memorandum and articles of Association 

  • Certified true copy of corporate Affairs Commission form (CO7) 

  • Certificate of exemption from using ‘Limited’ after name (where applicable) 

  • Authority to debit account for cost of company search. 

  • Letter of set off 

  • Search report 

  • Tax identification number. 

For Pharmaceutical companies and other professional inclined institutions/businesses, additional documentation listed below will be required 

Certificate of Membership of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria/the concerned professional body. 

Retention of premises certificate (where applicable) 

Annual license to practice (this should be updated annually).
